Who is this written for? This is written to persuade a Waitrose sales manager to employ my services as an agency copywriter.
Target audience: A Waitrose sales manager who is time-poor, gets lots of sales pitches from different copywriting agencies and wants a copywriter to have confidence in.
Purpose: To show that I know Waitrose’s sales well enough to write for them and that I (and the agency) can deliver the quality they need for their customer’s attention.
Don’t you love those filters that make your photos really pop with colour? That’s what I do with words – I’m Laura Deacon, a copywriter at [copywriting agency name] where we love using words to make products stand out from crowd.
I write copy for all sorts of campaigns and people fall in love with what I write about. After writing advertising features for Hotel Chocolat’s Easter Egg promos, their sales increased by 21% since last year! I also spread the word about Sainsbury’s Tu clothing on Instagram in 2023 and sales jumped up 18% in six months.
I’m excited about products with great potential. Your Duchy Organic food range deserves to be shouted about with 30 years of success to offer, but your sales have dropped 14% since the spike at the King’s coronation last year.
I’ve got the tools to turn that around. Adverts in The Telegraph, the Good Food Magazine and Waitrose Food will reach around 42 million readers a month. Anything from short, punchy pieces to mouth-watering advertising features—I can craft what you need.
With that size of audience, I can secure a 15% increase in organic food sales for 2024, and a 20% increase is within reach. In keeping with seasonality, I’ll separate the selection into organic summer, autumn, and winter food. By December 31st, you’ll have masses convinced again.
